Oil Calculator

1. Measure the Surface Area:

Start by measuring the square footage of the wood that needs to be treated. Use a tape measure or ruler to determine the length and width of the wood in inches or centimeters. Multiply these two measurements to calculate the total surface area in square inches or square centimeters.

2. Determine the Wood Type:

Next, identify the type of wood you are working with. Different types of wood have varying absorption rates, which will affect the amount of oil needed.

3. Calculate the Oil Quantity:

Once you have the surface area and wood type you can calculate the amount of oil needed for your project in our calculator. The general rule of thumb is to apply approximately 1 ounce (30 milliliters) of oil per square foot (30 square centimeters) of wood surface.
